Landscape Renaissance
Kingston Plantation was developed in the late 1980s and demonstrated profound respect and sensitivity to preserving the natural environment while creating an upscale, fun and diversified real estate investment opportunity.
Almost 40 years later, many of the original landscape plans have become outdated or have aged out of their natural lifespan. Many hedges are past their normal lifespan and have become woody. Some plantings were less than ideal for the coastal environment and have not lived up to their environmental and aesthetic potential. Some trees have reached their lifespan and need to be replaced.
After consulting with owners, real estate investment professionals and potential guests, the KPMA Board realized that a renaissance was needed to bring property values up, enhance the Kingston experience for residents, and maximize the coastal experience for visitors.
With the scale of the combined and varied needs for the communities, KPMA received bids for and went forward with a master landscape plan by Environmental Concepts, one of the leading landscape architecture firms in the state. Environmental Concepts has submitted the plans, and KPMA has done demonstration installations and had model photos from these plans made for many buildings. This allows a better understanding for owners to see what they can expect in the renovation process.
